Norman J. Lerum in Chicago has a diverse caseload including business and contract litigation, insurance coverage and personal injury lawsuits. Attorney Norman J. Lerum has served clients throughout Greater Chicago for more than four decades. He established his own law firm in 1986, and has earned a reputation for providing effective legal guidance that is tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Mr. Lerum is a cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame, both undergraduate and law school. While in law school, he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the recipient of the Dean’s Award for excellence in appellate advocacy. He has handled hundreds of litigated matters in his career. He has tried over 100 cases, both jury and bench, in courts located in Illinois, Delaware, New York, Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona, Iowa, Texas, and California. He has also prepared and argued approximately 100 cases on appeal, several of which have set precedent.

Mr. Lerum is an AV rated lawyer under the Martindale-Hubbell system and has been listed among Chicago’s Top Rated Lawyers. He has been accepted as a Life Member of the National Registry of Who’s Who as published in the 1998 Edition. He has also been recognized and distinguished as a Top Attorney in North America by the Who’s Who Directories, 2020-2021.

Eileen Burns Lerum, of Counsel, graduated magna cum laude from Niagara University and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. She is an AV rated lawyer under the Martindale Hubbell system and was listed among Chicago’s Top Rated Lawyers She is a former Vice President, Legal, U.S. for Rio Tinto, plc, a multinational corporation. She also held United States legal officer positions in Alcan, Inc. and Pechiney, S.A. Her areas of professional interest include litigation management, environmental law, and business organization.
